Terms of Service
At Australis Fire we aim to provide the best available service to our clients based on a clear understanding of what we do and what we don’t do.
Fire damage is a serious concern of most property owners. Smoke detectors can limit the damage caused by fire and potentially save lives and prevent injuries. They are just one part of the precautionary measures that property owners should take. In addition to regularly maintained smoke detectors, owners should have well maintained energy supply systems, regular garden and tree maintenance, easy to access fire extinguishers, a fire escape plan and other emergency equipment. You should have an evacuation plan and emergency phone numbers on hand. We can provide some advice about these things based on our breadth of experience, should you request it.
To limit exposure to financial loss due to fire, owners and tenants should maintain adequate insurance for the full value of potential loss. This agreement does not, nor does our insurance, cover you for loss caused by fire even if one of our devices fails. That is why you must insure against such loss.
By signing this agreement or engaging Resismoke to carry out any works or maintenance, you warrant that you are the owner, owner’s agent or owner’s tenant and you are authorized by the owner to enter into this agreement and give access to the premises for the purpose of carrying out the service.
OUR SERVICE
We supply, install and maintain smoke detectors that are approved by regulatory authorities and enable your property to be compliant with current law in NSW. All smoke detectors installed will be compliant with AS 3786 in accordance with The Building Legislation Amendment (Smoke Alarms) Act 2005.
The technology and laws may change over time and we will offer you the latest technology at each renewal date. Payment of our annual $89 fee entitles you to installation and maintenance of one 9 volt photoelectric smoke detector for a period of 12 months on a standard height ceiling OR maintenance only of one lithium ion battery or 240 volt smoke detector for a period of 12 months on a standard height ceiling. Additional cost may be incurred for any installations or maintenance not mentioned above.
Our equipment is of high quality and will be promptly replaced in the event of any defect or failure provided:
– You have, within the last 12 months, had the equipment checked and serviced by Australis Fire and have paid the applicable fee.
– No one has removed, damaged or in any way tampered with the detector.
We will make service calls prior to the expiration of the 12 months from the last service, at your request. Where the equipment is found not to be faulty, a service charge will be payable.
We will notify you of the cost of any service prior to carrying out the work and in the case of any rate changes; these will be presented to you at the earliest possible convenience. No rates will be changed during a 12-month period. Payment for all services must be made within 21 days of the service.
You or we can cancel the service at any time by email notification. No refund will be payable in the event that you cancel the service.
We will replace any equipment found to be faulty or not in compliance with the manufacturers warranty at no cost to you. To the full extent permitted by law, our liability for breach of any warranty or condition (including implied warranty or condition) is limited to supply of the services again or payment of the cost of having those services supplied again. We accept no liability whatsoever for any loss, including consequential loss, suffered by you arising directly or indirectly from the supply of our services or equipment.
